Dr. B. Partha Saradhi Reddy, Chairman of Hetero Group of Companies founded the company in 1993. Over the past 30 years, he has nurtured this company to emerge as the largest closely held pharmaceutical company in India and a world leader in the production of anti-retroviral drugs.

Dr. B.P.S. Reddy holds a Ph.D in Synthetic Organic Chemistry and M.Sc in Organic Chemistry from Osmania University, Hyderabad. At Hetero, he leveraged his expertise in synthetic chemistry and leadership roles in Research and Development to create one of the best generic API companies of the world.

Dr. B.P.S. Reddy has enabled Hetero to become a global player with unparalleled strengths in research, manufacturing, and marketing. His vision for the advancement of healthcare has contributed to improve lives for millions of people.

Under his leadership, Hetero played a significant role during the HIV/AIDS crisis by developing one of the first affordable APIs for anti-retroviral drugs. Today, the company is globally acknowledged for its pioneering efforts in manufacturing a wide range of anti-retroviral drugs at an affordable cost.

Besides being an astute businessman, Dr. B.P.S. Reddy is an ardent philanthropist. He is accredited for making corporate social responsibility an inherent part of Hetero’s overall mission and for giving it importance on par with mainstream business operations. It is under his stewardship, Hetero’s CSR division has evolved with novel initiatives which provided access to quality Primary Education (especially girl child education), healthcare water and eye care among others to many underserved communities.

He also is a co-chairman of “Lead India Foundation 2020” which is engaged in imparting soft skills and personality development courses to school and college going children across the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. It’s under his aegis that the foundation was able to touch and transform the lives of about one lakh students, 432 government schools and 32 government colleges with their skill development programmes.

Dr. Vamsi Krishna Bandi, Managing Director of Hetero Group of Companies, chiefly oversees the overall technical, commercial and supply chain operations. He has been at the helm of building the global formulation business in key markets such as the US, EU, and Emerging countries. As a strategist with a strong business acumen, he has been instrumental in furthering the organization’s capabilities in Oncology, Biologics, Specialty therapeutics and vaccine production. He played a vital role in forging global licensing partnerships with multinational pharma giants to help Hetero expand its ARV and Hepatitis portfolio. His efforts also include actualising the manufacturing agreements for critical drugs like Remdesivir, Molnupiravir and Sputnik V vaccine to contribute to the ongoing global fight against COVID-19.

With a vision to take Hetero’s progress to newer heights, Dr. Vamsi is continuously working to enhance the company’s capabilities in Research, Quality, Manufacturing and Sustainability.

Dr. Vamsi Krishna holds a PhD. In Environmental Science and Technology from JNTU, Hyderabad, MS in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Institute of Chemical Technology, popularly known as UDCT in Mumbai.
